Two of the best phones of 2023 could be launched in the first half of the year, with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra expected to appear on February 1, and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra likely to land sometime after that, however, the latest leaks indicate that we may wait longer. A noteworthy Galaxy S competitor is expected.
According to digital chat station (Opens in a new tab) – Reputable leaker – Posted on Weibo (via NotebookCheck (Opens in a new tab)), the Xiaomi 13 Ultra likely won’t land until after March, with another user responding that it’s likely to launch in early April.
That would give Samsung a clear runway of about two months before rival Xiaomi’s S23 Ultra lands, perhaps longer for most of the world, as that April launch could only be for China – with other regions likely to get the Xiaomi 13 Ultra even later. , based on what Xiaomi does in some of its phones.
This means, by the way, that we probably won’t see the Xiaomi 13 Ultra at MWC 2023 – a huge trade fair that starts on February 27th.
However, some other Chinese phones could land soon, as Digital Chat Station said in the same post that they expect to announce the Oppo Find X6 series and the Honor Magic 5 line in late February or early March, which will coincide with MWC.
Analysis: Xiaomi 13 Ultra can live up to its name
There’s an expectation that phones with ‘Ultra’ in their name are high-end devices packed with features, and from what we’ve heard about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra it certainly could be.
We’ve heard, for example, that it might have a quad-lens camera; Complete with a one-inch sensor for the primary snapper (much like its predecessor, the Xiaomi 12s Ultra), which should help it take great photos.
It’s also almost certainly matching or better than the Xiaomi 13 Pro in most other areas, and this phone has already been unveiled. So we know then we can expect at least the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, potentially a large QHD+ display and very fast charging; Since the Xiaomi 13 Pro can charge up to 120W.
So if you want one of the best Android phones and it’s not sold out on Samsung, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra might be worth the wait.
