Artificial intelligence is used to take a comprehensive look at the written word using the latest versions of DeepL Free writing app Writes.
pitched as a competitor to grammarthe Amnesty International The writing tool is able to correct spelling and grammatical errors, paraphrase words and sentences, and generally make your writing clearer.
Developer DeepL, who first made waves with artificial intelligence Translation softwaresaid the tool uses “neural network technology that captures the context and nuances of the original text to provide suggestions for paraphrasing and alternative word options.”

It originated as an idea to help our multilingual user base verify the accuracy of their translations, and the idea behind Writing is to give users control over their writing.
Unlike ChatGPT’s article-creating content, this AI is a powerful intelligent proof-reader, though the company claims that by introducing recommended changes across wording, tone, style, and word choice, writers can “retain their authentic voice” and creativity.
We gave typing a quick test drive. The interface is clean, with just two text fields and an option to switch between languages. British, American, English and German English are supported at launch.
The text is pasted into the left field and the results appear on the right. Suggestions are highlighted in it familiar word processor road. Clicking links in the text provides some other possibilities as well.
Speed was excellent – less than a second to check a single sentence; A few seconds to run A-eye on a longer piece (although after 2000 characters you’ll get a prompt to buy DeepL Pro).
However, it is not perfect. Like similar typing and writing improvement apps, suggested changes can seem flat, unemotional, and process-driven. As with any AI content, human refinement is usually always desirable and always desirable.
