The best cheap Apple Watch deals and sales
Released in October last year, the Apple Watch 8 is Apple’s latest and greatest smartwatch with a starting price of $399 / £419 / AU$629 for the GPS-only model and $499 / £529 / AU$749 for the cellular model. The 45mm model starts at $429 / £449 / AU$679, with the cellular model costing $529 / £549 / AU$779.
The Apple Watch 8 is the best smartwatch you can buy, thanks to new health and safety features like a temperature sensor and fault detection. You still get all the great features of the Series 7 smartwatch, including the Always-On display, activity tracking, an ECG app, and impressive all-day battery life.
Apple Watch 7 was unveiled in 2021 and includes a 70% brighter always-on display, faster charging, and 20% more screen space, making it easier to use and read. The design also got an update with softer, more rounded edges and new sizes of 41mm and 45mm. Apple Watch 7 still includes all the great features of the Series 6 smartwatch, like blood oxygen monitoring, an ECG app, and activity tracking.
Thanks to the release of the Apple Watch 8, it’s been hard to find Apple Watch 7 deals if you’re looking for a new model. If you don’t mind a smartwatch upgrade, there are plenty of deals available.
The Apple Watch 6 debuted in September 2020 at an introductory price of $399 / £379 – the same baseline costs as the 2019 Series 5.
The feature-rich Apple Watch 6 comes with some major upgrades over the Series 5 — a new blood oxygen monitor (with a companion app) and an all-new dual-core S6 processor, which Apple claims is 20% faster than last year’s model. Aside from these major upgrades, the always-on display is back, but greatly improved with some nifty new controls for notifications, allowing you to interact without fully waking up the watch.
The Apple Store no longer carries the Apple Watch 6, so like the Series 7, Apple Watch deals on the Series 6 are hard to come by if you’re looking for a brand new smartwatch.
The Apple Watch SE was released in 2020 alongside the Series 6 as a more affordable alternative, starting at $279 / £269.
Key features include the latest watchOS 7, which will enable this device to access many new upgrades, as the more expensive, but more affordable Series 6 falters. Internally, you also get the same altimeter, gyroscope, and accelerometer as the Series 6—enough for all major fitness apps, but you lose the all-new blood oxygen monitor.
All in all, this watch is definitely more stripped-down than the Series 6, but considering you get nearly as much power as the Series 5 for less and the new watchOS 7 — it’s an excellent value and one of our favorite Apple Watch deals.
While the Apple Watch 3 was released back in 2017, it’s still a first-rate device in terms of fitness and longevity, with onboard run and lap tracking and a waterproof case for swimming, plus a heart rate monitor on the underside. And the LTE version comes with cellular connectivity so you can use it independently of your phone.
You’ll lose out on some of the design benefits of newer models by opting for the cheaper Apple Watch. The screen size and smaller case don’t hold you back, but there’s a much better option on the market with the latest body designs. The watch itself is a bit thicker and runs on an older processor that won’t get you through apps very quickly.
However, the Apple Watch 3 is still a solid smartwatch solution, especially if you’re looking for something cheaper to use just for fitness or music. They’re much more affordable than newer models while still offering the latest software, and thanks to Apple’s continued support, they’re generally available at most retailers. Basically, the Apple Watch deals will center around the core feature set that offers amazing value for money.

Apple Watch deals: Is the price worth it?
Apple devices often come with a high price tag, and the Apple Watch doesn’t fall far from the tree. However, if you’re looking for a smartwatch to work with your iPhone, no other brand will come close to offering Apple Watch’s proprietary functionality.
While the Apple Watch is still priced higher than many other brands, you’re paying for integration with a huge number of the apps you already use on your iPhone. Plus, with all the Apple Watch deals happening and recent software updates for older models, you can easily get a great deal.
Apple Watch deals from phone carriers
If you’re looking for an Apple Watch deal with a cellular plan, a carrier like Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile might be your best option. Buying an Apple Watch from a carrier allows you to make monthly payments, and you can usually find discounts, especially if you have an existing phone plan with them.
An Apple Watch literally wouldn’t be complete without the best deals on Apple Watch bands. They make the geeky smartwatch stylish enough to show off to late adopters.
In fact, you’ll need several cheap Apple Watch straps just because the sleeker ones aren’t ideal for the gym. And vice versa, sports teams don’t cut it at the fancy dinner table.
Every day in the news, we see new, cheap Apple Watch bands trying to become the de facto replacement for the much more expensive official Apple Watch bands, and they’re usually just as good. Trust us, buying a trio of third-party, similar Apple Watch straps for the price of one official strap is a relief after paying so much for the smartwatch itself.
