The first trailer for the groundbreaking season 2 has been released – and it comes packaged with a launch window for the next installment in the hit sci-fi saga.
Posted on various Apple TV Plus social media channels on January 4, the first teaser for the groundbreaking season 2, erm, teases what to expect ahead of the Apple TV Plus show’s return. In addition, the trailer confirms when one of Apple TV Plus’ best shows will return to our screens: mid-2023.
Take a look at the first footage of Foundation Season 2 below:
The teaser begins with a montage of clips from the first season of the sci-fi series, which ended with Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey) meeting her mother, Gal Dornic (Lou Lobel), for the first time, as well as revealing that all is not the case. t well with Emperor Cleon cloning software.
Once you start to think that the trailer only contains footage you’ve watched previously, though, it cuts to scenes from the next season of Enterprise. Here, at approximately 1:00, Apple confirms that its mind-boggling favorite TV show will premiere this summer (this winter for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere).
There’s not much we can glean from the season 2 footage, other than the fact that Seldon’s second crisis – events that will test the strength of the Foundation and its inhabitants – will form the backbone of the series’ next installment. We also see Salvor being overwhelmingly hailed as a Christian character by some cape-wearing individuals, plenty of action-packed moments (mostly involving Gal), and tons of amazingly good sci-fi footage. Oh, and a closing shot of what appears to be a new alien life form appearing aboard a starship. Excuse me.
The primary teaser for Season 2 and the launch window announcement are the first official news we’ve received since February 2022. At the time, Apple released the first image from the show’s sophomore year, which showed Lee Pace’s Brother Day engaging in a fraught conversation with the AI version of Jared Harris. Harry Seldon. Along with the photo, Apple has confirmed a handful of new cast members for the series’ next outing, including actors who will play important characters in Bel Riose and Hober Mallow.
Foundation Season 2 for Apple TV Plus is produced by Skydance Television, with David S. Robin Asimov, Alex Graves, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Post also returning in executive producing capacities.
Here’s the important launch window date again: Enterprise season 2 debuted exclusively on Apple TV Plus in the second quarter of 2023.
